FOR SALE - LINCOLN CONTINENTAL 1947 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL COUPE -- VIN 7H152906This fine automobile has been owned by the current owner for almost 50 years and has won National First Place awards in the Lincoln Continental Owners Club and AACA National meets.The following mechanical work 1 and 2 was done within the past 5 years and the car has been driven less than 500 miles since then.1. Rebuilt the HV12 engine using an original, factory in-the-crate, standard-block which was still slathered in Cosmoline see final pictures showing the crate. The engine was rebuilt by Mardinly Enterprises in Broomall, PA. Parts for the engine rebuild were obtained from Joblot Automotive Inc. and various car club sale vendors and include rod and main bearings, pistons and rings by Egge Machine Company thus reducing rotating mass, VL15 lifters, solid valve guides and keepers, valve springs, valves, high pressure oil pump, timing gear, rebuilt distributor, rebuilt water pumps, rebuilt carburetor, reconditioned radiator, new clutch and pressure plate, brake system including master-cylinder, wheel-cylinders rebuilt, brake shoes, new exhaust system and new battery.2. New king-pin bushings and bearings and reset the gears in the steering box and aligned front wheels. Re-arched front and rear springs and rebuilt Houdaille shock absorbers.Working radio, antenna, turn signals and rebuilt horns tuned to factory tone specifications.Chrome plating was done by Harry Martin of Philadelphia.Narragansett Wiring and Harnesses with proper color coding and braided looms.New tires and tubes with less than 200 miles on them.Technical and authenticity consultants were Mr. O. C. Rich, Mr. Jessie Haines, Mr. Hunter Barrington and Mr. Edward Ed Pease.This classy Lincoln Continental was invited to be featured in The Classic Car book, a certified publication of the Classic Car Club of America, published in October, 1996, page 236, edited by Beverly Rae Kimes.
