About

For your consideration is this 1969 Chevy C-10. This truck has been in our family since my grandparents drove it home from Hartington, NE on December 26, 1973. It spent most of its life in use on their farm near Obert until the fall of 2012 when I purchased it after the farm place was sold. Except for routine maintenance and items replaced it is in its untouched original state with just over 85,000 miles on the odometer. I had new tires put on when I bought it and have had maintenance done on it since which includes an extensive amount of work our mechanics class at the school where I work did on it in the fall of 2018. They also straightened the rear bumper somewhat, did brake work, replaced the shocks, and tried to hammer out a few of the dings here and there. This truck still has the original 3 on the tree transmission which works great. From time to time, the shifting does stick a little going back down into first gear. I am told this is a linkage on its way out. The body is in great overall condition - with some areas of rust here and there mainly under doors and near bumpers and some dings. The white paint specks you see are remnants of its former life when the stock rack was repainted. The interior is in nice condition also. The plasticpadded dash does have splits in it. The seat is in great shape as are the doors, gages, glove box, etc. The glove box still has the original cardboard liner which is usually long gone in vehicles this old. Windows function but could use some lubing up to operate more smoothly. The gas gage has been stuck on about half full for years but I use the odometer to determine when to fuel up. A manual choke was installed prior to my buying it and this does help it to start right up. No matter how many weeks it may sit unused, I can pump it a couple times, turn the key, and it fires right up and runs smooth. This has not been a daily driver for me personally but recently I did drive it for two weeks when I was in between vehicles and had no issues. Box is in great overall condition and tailgate functions as it should. There is one hub cap missing as the photos show. I did notice recently that the horn was detached under the hood. This truck has been well-used and well-loved and shows a few bumps and bruises as evidence of this. Its not pristine, but its a really nice original that has virtually not had any restoration work done. I have literally had people stop me when mowing or knock on the door wanting to buy it so I know its desirable. As I am not a car-literate person, I cant tell you what the engine is or some of those particulars. Am hoping the photos will help there. If you would like to look this vintage piece over for consideration please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I am open to reasonable offers. Thanks for looking and I hope to hear from you
