This 1979 Volkswagen Beetle marks the end of an era, as the final production year of the Beetle for the global market. The Karmann Edition nomenclature is a nod to the first Beetle convertible, coachbuilt by Karmann in 1949. This final-year VW Bug was owned by a well respected VW collector for many years before being purchased and enjoyed by me... Sadly I have only driven it twice since I purchased it last spring. Finished in a rust orange over white interior with a matching white convertible top, this is a Volkswagen that will receive adoration everywhere it goes. The fuel injected motor, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, runs strong and starts right up without hesitation with 48,906 original miles
