I would love to keep it, but I dont have the mechanical ability to address future mechanical needs.Has new timing belt kit, spark plugs, oil, and master cylinder. It is a non-interference engine. Since the repair of the timing belt, there is some knocking in the engine when driving over 2500 RPMs. There are used engines on the market for $350-$650 if that is what is required to address the knocking. However, it may need a simpler repair that only a motorhead with a love of Isuzu Troopers could diagnose.BACKGROUNDI bought this in Spearfish SD to transport my new puppy to Jacksonville FL. I love the body style of the Isuzu Trooper and knew this would be a high risk investment and journey given the high mileage. My intention was to sell the vehicle in Jacksonville at the end of my trip or give it to a friend. It broke down in Sioux Falls and was repaired in Brookings. I took more reliable transportation to drive the rest of the way home. The vehicle is still located in Brookings and Im in Jacksonville, FL. My aunt and uncle will liaison for the sale of the SUV. I bought this for $3250 from an older gentleman who was a mechanic in Spearfish. He wouldnt come down on the price, because hed already put $4200 into it. The brakes werent that great so a new master cylinder was also replaced for $500. Im asking $3750 to recoup my funds, but Ill consider other offers.Its a great SUV with obvious interior wear on the leather seats, but the body is in great condition. The 4 wheel drive works great along with the cruise control and all other options.
