About

2003 Ford Excursion LIMITEDThis is a clean 2003, maintained, Diesel Bullet Proofed, 2WD Excursion. 275500 miles. She does not burn oil. This diesel is strong, AC works and the vehicle is overall a 710. It has not been in a major accident. The body is in above average condition with a few minor dings at the rear tail lights all lenses are perfect and ZERO RUST. Otherwise the exterior is in above average condition. Paint is in very good condition. The interior is also in good condition, new factory drivers leather seat cover. Otherwise typical leather condition due to time. Fuel tank is 42 gallons and she gets great highway mileage ... above 19mpg for a heavy truck that was based on the F250 frame. Tires have better than 60 life remaining - VGC.This is a ONE OWNER Truck since new.The LIMITED version was top of the line in 2003, adding to the exterior and interior aesthetics, power stuff all around, and overall a nice looking truck. What is Bullet Proofing a Ford DieselBullet proofing a 6.0 Power Stroke engines in its simplest form, is swapping out the weak factory head bolts for quality head studs, such as ARP Head Studs, upgrading the EGR and replacing the factory oil cooler with a new Motorcraft Part. ARP head studs are the stud of choice, they are insanely strong and extremely stretch resistant. One of the main failure points in the 6.0 diesel, the factory head bolts will physically stretch, causing head lift, which ultimately results in a blown head gasket. When the head lifts from the block, even though it is only thousands of an inch, its enough to cause hot spots, combustion chamber leaks, coolant consumption and stress points on the head gasket which leads to the failure all 6.0 owners fear. The engine relies on the head bolts to resist the massive combustion pressures generated by the engines 181 compression ratio, coupled with up to 25 pounds of boost pressure on stock trucks.Feel free to verify this Bullet Proofing on the internet. This was an $8000 fix from Ford and aftermarket sites.
