About

This has been my daily driver for many years. Highway miles - commuting 50 miles a day, 5 days a week. It is still my daily.- Strong engine- Strong transmission- Good brakes- Good All Season tires - Almost new extra set of winter studded tires mounted on a separate set of wheels 250- Four wheel drive works like a charm. It is a beast. That thing will start driving on a 30 degree hill with 10 of fresh snow at an instant. Everyone else will need chains. - 2 lift kit you can run any tire size you want- 2 wheel spacers- New shocks all around some bushings- Alignment done in December- Oil changes before every summer and every winter or 3000 miles, whichever comes first.- Electric everything. Heated seats. Everything electric works.- No check engine light.- I have covers for all the seats. I just forgot to grab them when I was leaving Durango. Happy to bring them over next time. If you know these Pathfinders 1996-2004 with the automatic transmission you know they are bombproof and last way over 400k. This is why I bought it at the first place - reliability. My friend who is a mechanic has been driving this generation pathfinders for decades and raving about them. This thing purrs like a cat. By the time you turn the key, the engine is already running. Starts right up at -20 outside. No hesitation. All that said the car is far from perfect. It would be a good fit for someone who is handy and knows how to keep up with things here and there. I dont have much time any more and pretty much pay a mechanic for everything but oil changes. Inside the car is clean with the usual wear and tear for its age. Front left panel has a dent in it, purely cosmetic. This was as a result from a minor incident with a deer by my house going 10mph. After the incident the deer just went on its way and everyone was fine. The volume control knob started acting out and it is currently very loud so I just keep the radio off. It stopped blowing cold air a couple weeks ago and havent looked into it yet. There is a slow oil leak. I usually use about a quart of oil between oil changes. There is a power steering fluid leak. Long story short, I have been keeping an eye on fluids regularly and topping off without issues. I am at the point where paying a mechanic $100h is not worth to me any more. I love the thing but would rather invest into something more fuel efficient. The previous owner is a friend who also drove it 50mi a day to work and back. Maintained regularly. The car has been mostly in Durango, CO area while owned by me and the previous owner. Currently in Leadville. Maintenance records available. Timing belt is good for another 52k miles. The reason I am selling is because I will be switching to something more fuel efficient. Thanks for looking
